This beautiful softcover notebook features colorful 1895 maps of the nationalities of the neighborhood east of Chicago's Hull House. Inside the front cover are additional neighborhood maps, a vintage railroad map of Chicago, a map of Chicago transit lines and two light blue graph pages for notes. Designed by Wellesley College graduate Agnes Sinclair Holbrook, the color-coded neighborhood maps show the diverse immigrant population in the area. She was also a resident of Hull House, a female based settlement in Chicago's Near West Side that was instrumental in social reforms of the late 19th century. Founded by Jane Addams in 1889, Hull House offered assistance, education and childcare to newcomers.
